After patient triage by our clinical partner, we identify patients who may be at higher risk for cardiopulmonary events such as HF decompensation . The triage team utilizes practice-established clinician protocols to notify the appropriate patient care team with actionable clinical data. Notification can be flexibly integrated into a practice’s proven workflow so as not to overburden clinical team members.

The Sensinel CPM System measures a variety of physiological parameters. The intelligent algorithms then derive measurements from the raw data acquired from the wearable. What is the value in using the Sensinel CPM System compared to existing remote monitoring technology (electronic weigh scale, pulse oximeter, or blood pressure cuff)?

Weight gain, pulse oximetry, blood pressure are clinically recognized as providing late-stage indicators for the onset of an acute HF decompensation event. Monitoring physiological parameters correlated to hemodynamic changes has been clinically recognized as providing the potential for early intervention to prevent acute decompensation events [1,2]. This reduces the number of reactive care team scenarios associated with late-stage clinical indicators.

The clinical measurements captured by the Sensinel CPM System may identify acute events such as an HF episode earlier than late-stage symptomology. In addition, existing remote patient monitoring methods frequently generate false positives as reported in the University of Pittsburgh and Multisense studies. The Sensinel CPM System is worn by patients for three to five minutes per application and measures multiple, sensitive, physiologic parameters correlated to hemodynamic changes across different organ systems. The clinical data it collects would historically require several separate outpatient diagnostic tests to obtain similar information. In this way, the Sensinel CPM System aims to promote earlier clinical intervention to minimize false alerts and lower costs by avoiding hospital and/or ED visits.
